Santa's Lodge Disaster

Here's my weekend wrap up..

My husband was off work this Saturday for the first time in 3 weeks and he kept saying I want to go do something I don't want to just sit around here all weekend again. After he said it enough times he got what he wished for a 1:15 I called the Santa's Lodge in Santa Claus IN and made reservations for the night. The Lynch family was taking a road trip. By about 2 we were on the road. It is about an hour and a half drive and the kids were excellent in the car (which was shocking). We got there and checked in and took the kids swimming which they all loved. I thought to myself this is awesome what a great family day together. And then it hit. The demon that posesses my middle child started to come through. We went to this Christmas store and he was wanting to see Santa and my husband said you have to wait in line and he started having a tantrum right then and there in this crowded store. We just left with what felt like a million peoples eyes on us. Things got a little better from there we went to the land of lights and drove through to look at all the lights and things were looking up for a brief instant. Then we get back to our hotel and go downstairs to the restraunt to eat. Connor doesn't want to sit still and eat and keeps getting out of his seat. While I am getting my food from the buffet Keith is giving me the death look and motioning me to get over there with some serious urgency. Come to find out Connor had been laying on the floor and when Keith was getting him up Sam had spilt Maggies drink all over the table and floor. Awesome. I forgot to mention when we first got into that restraunt a little boy was choking on his food and finally threw up all over the floor. That is a great way to set the mood. Needless to say Keith hauled Connor out of that restraunt immediately and Mag and Sam and I finished eating and followed. Now we are on to the meet and greet with Santa. My kids are waiting there turn to see Santa and Connor is running around the lobby like some demon child. I tried to act like I didn't know him but he kept calling me mom so it ruined my cover. Haha. It is there turn now and guess what Connor and Sam are both terrified of Santa. Once again Awesome... Now Connor is screaming having another fit and I just took him and Sam back to the room and made them go to sleep. Maggie stayed up and had milk and cookies with Santa and Mrs. Claus. She was in heaven and had the time of her life. The sleeping for the night didn't go great. My kids just get laid in their beds at 8pm every night I haven't slept with the boys since they were newborns really and now I am more aware of why. Sam tossed and turned and slept on my head and on my back and everywhere imaginable. He finally passed out about an hour after he started at the foot of the bed. Connor woke Maggie up bc he had his knees in her back. I think it was 3 in the morning when I finally got to sleep. What a night. Sam woke up at 5 in the morning. We ate breakfast with Santa. He talked to Connor a couple of times and he screamed loud enough everyone once again looked at us. Then it was back home and does it ever feel good to be home. I can honestly say I am glad we went. It wasn't all bad and you have to make memories. The kids will only remember the good parts when they get older right? On the way home my husband springs it to me that a trip to Wal-Mart would have sufficed him. It would have been nice to know that a little earlier on...

Update...

I have been so crazy lately I have completely neglected the blog and the facebook ( 2 things I didn't think I could do without out Haha).

Where do I start...
Last week Keith's grandma was in the hospital and when it was time to discharge her we were told she couldn't go home:( So... I went to the Legends (Btw it is sooo nice there) and made arrangements there for her and grandpa to stay while she got some more physical therapy and hopefully gets her strength back enough to come home. It has been stressful. Grandpa didn't want to move out there and grandma has been acting really confused and not like herself. It really sucks to have to be the one to make all of these tough decisions but we are all they have and are just trying to do what we think is best for them right now. Maybe she will really improve and get to come home. But I have a hard time seeing that happen. It is hard to see these people who have been like parents to us start to decline so much. I guess it is life but at the same time I am just not ready for it.
Moving on to my own household.. Things are just as crazy as always. Mags is growing like a weed (which explains why all her pants are high waters again. I can't find a pair of pants that fit that kids waist and are long enough). She is so excited about Christmas but has been asking if Santa is real or not. She can't figure out why he had the same Hannah Montana wrapping paper as I did last year. We aren't ready for her to be big so we keep making excuses for things. Maybe that isn't right but we still want her to believe at least till next year. Dang those kids at school and on the school bus. Lol.
Connor is like talking to a person now not like the baby boy he was last Christmas. He is now saying thank you mommy and please and sorry and excuse me. He almost acts like he has manners. It is so sweet. He is really beginning to love his brother and has fun running and chasing him all around the house. On the other hand he has learned the meaning of no. Now if you say Connor let's go to bed he says no way momma. It is so cute you have to laugh but at times it is pretty trying. His tv watching recliner has turned into the bad boy chair and he has done several stints in it each day. I wonder if he will ever learn to share with his brother. It is so hard to discipline your kids but I just really want him to be a good boy and we want to instill good values in him. Maggie was always really well behaved. I don't know if it is the difference between boys and girls or what but this is really our first rodeo. It gets interesting around here. Lol.
Sam has been cutting the mother load of teeth and he has been a disgusting drooling mess. He has been having to wear a bib all the time to keep his clothes dry. He has also had a sinus infection on top of that (the kind when he cries he blows a beautiful snot bubble). So for that reason I have had him quarantined. I didn't want him to catch anything else or pass it on. Plus who wants to see a snotty kid. Yuck. I still love him and kiss his drooly mouth at any chance I can get. When it is your own it is never that gross, right? But he is running like a wild man. He is kind of bow legged ( the dr assures me he will out grow that) and is getting a big belly on him so he just waddles around the house all the time. It is so funny to watch him. He is saying just about everything. It is amazing how quickly he picks up on stuff.
Anyways Yo gabba gabba is almost over (btw that is the stupidest show I have ever seen but for some reason Connor is loving it now) so my time is up. Hope everyone is having a great holiday season. Oh yeah one more thing Courtney Owens my computer will never let me leave a comment on your blog but I am still reading it and loving it. Thanks for always commenting on my blog. My computer is about to get a revamp bc our lap top is broken and then I ought to be back in business.
Take care everyone.

I'm still here!!

Where do I start...
The last 2 weeks have been really crazy around here. On the 18th I had breast reduction surgery. It has been something I have been wanting to do for years and was waiting to be done having babies to do. I felt like my back was always hurting and none of my shirts were ever fitting right. Anyways so I went for it and I am so glad I did. I am feeling so much better already. The surgery wasn't bad at all and the recovery has been pretty easy as well. Just been hard to not pick up the kids for the last 2 weeks. Sam I can pick up but Connor is way to heavy so I have had to have help from my mom and mother in law in order to recover. I think I am about back to normal though and i go to the dr tommorrow and hopefully he will say I am ok to go back to the usual.
We have been gearing up for Christmas. Decorating and putting lights up are such a big job. Especially because now that we have a bigger house I keep buying more trees and more decorations which my husband is thrilled about. Haha. Sam is obsessed with taking all the ornaments off the tree and Connor is having fun unwrapping the gifts. He brought me a shirt the other day and said look mom this is such a cool shirt. Guess what it was the one I had bought for my sister and had wrapped under the tree. This could be a long 23 more days. I am almost done with my shopping except for just a few odd and end things but the majority of it is done. yay!! I hate shopping after Thanksgiving with all the people out. Today is actually my brothers birthday. Last year Maggie and I were at a party store and saw this Hamburger hat and she wanted to buy it for my dad for his birthday. We decided that he should wear it to all the birthday parties after that. Little did I know that on my birthday I got my own hat. The hot dog hat. Now my brothers birthday has rolled around and he was blessed with the duck hat. So for everyones birthday they will get a hat until we all have one and wear them for the parties. Yeah my family has issues but we have a good time and get a lot of laughs out of each other. Happy birthday Uncle Danny!!
Here is Miss Mags at Uncle Dannys party.

Sam is now a biker. Loving to ride his brothers motorcylce.

Daddy and his boys.

Connor is enjoying himself a bubble bath in our jet tub. (Actually I started out enjoying it until I ended up with 2 little boys with me.) When you turn the jets on it makes the bubbles grow out of control at this point his face was barely sticking out of the bubbles. How fun.
Anyways that is just a little preview of what has been going on around here. Hope you are all doing well!!

So I am soo late posting my Halloween pics but some of them were so hilarious they had to be posted. Every year Keith's mom dresses up for Halloween and comes to our house and rings the door bell and trick or treats my kids. This year she was Hannah Montanna. It was so hilarious. My kids didn't know what to think about their Grandma. She is too much!! Look at my little pirate. Of course he had to wear Maggies sunglasses with the outfit. They definetly finish off the look. I am certain most pirates wear pink sunglasses. Haha.

This is one of the few pics I have of the 3 of them together. How funny is that. I can never get a good picture of them on Easter morning but on Halloween they all sit still for a picture.

Mags and Sammy! (Connor calls him Sammy boy. I swear he thinks that is his name)

Isn't his handle bar mustache hilarious!!

Anyways better late than never. Hope everyone is having a good week!!

IT has arrived!!

I have heard about the swine flu for what feels like an eternity now but I am one of those people who chooses not to worry about things until I really have something to worry about. Well guess what the time has arrived. My sister has been sick for a few days now and after my mom has virtually persuaded her to go to the dr today she went. She said they took her temp and it was 104 and they immediately went and got the dr. and put a mask on her. The dr said of course you need to go straight to the hospital and get tested and guess what sure enough it was positive. So now my family is sporting a case of the flu. Yuck!! I guess I like to think that kind of thing won't happen to me or my family but guess what it does. She is doing fine. Getting meds and rest and will be back to new in no time I am sure but it still makes you nervous. I worry that my little niece and nephews will get it and that my kids or Keith and I will get it through our contact with them. I guess we will cross that bridge when we get there. I am scheduled to have surgery on the 18th and would like to get it over with so I am crossing my fingers that I and my family will be able to steer clear of this. Well keep my sister in your prayers and her family that they will stay healthy and keep a close eye on your family members and kids bc you never now it could be you next!!

Girls Weekend!!

So this past weekend Maggie and I went on a special overnighter girls trip with her best friend Madi McClure and her mom Stephanie. We left Saturday morning and drove to Louisville and did a little shopping. We took the girls into Justice (a store in the mall) and found them some matching outfits and hats. They thought they were really stylin. Keith has some family that lives in Louisville. His Aunt and Uncle and cousins. His cousin Amber has been one of my best friends for years and I will take any excuse I can to go and visit her. I wish I could move her here to be closer to me. We spent the night with them and as always I wish the trip could have lasted longer. Saturday night was the long anticipated Miley Cyrus concert. As far as that goes the girls loved it. Maggie just was wondering why we couldn't wait to get Miley Cyrus' autograph afterwards. It is a hard concept for a little girl to understand that there are thousands of people around and it would never happen. Anyways I was slightly appalled that what I thought was an innocent role model wasn't quite as innocent as she used to be. Wowzers. Skin tight mini shorts and some questionable dancing are my main memories of that night but the girls really didn't seem to notice to much and as long as they don't try and follow suit I guess we are ok. I just think back to the days when I was Mags age and I really don't remember Tiffany or Debbie Gibson or the New Kids on the Block pulling any of those stunts but I guess that was a whole different era. ( I think it is hilarious that my daughter thinks the 80's was like forever ago. She always says hey mom did they have TV and toilets and things like that in the 80's and I have to tell her yes that wasn't really all that long ago.) After the concert it was off to bed and we got up the next morning and had breakfast with Keith's Aunt Shannon and cousins and then it was back on the road. The whole trip went way to fast. I am looking forward to doing it again soon.
Well while daddy was left in charge of the boys over night Connor came down with the stomach flu. Awesome!! It went through most of the fam before it was finished. But we are all on the mend now..Thank you lord for that. But Keith only got 3 hours of sleep while I was gone. Maybe he will get a new appreciation for what I do. That is not unusual for me lately. Connor is scared of something in his room now so he is rarely sleeping all night. He wakes up screaming everynight. Sam hasn't really been sleeping very well either. Because they have both slept so well for so long I feel like maybe something is wrong so I keep getting up with them. Connor has had the stomach flu so bad I am afraid when he gets up in the night it might be for that reason. Yuck. Oh well I am hoping by age 30 to be able to consistently sleep all night! ( Keep your fingers crossed)
Here are a few pics of our girls weekend.

This is Maggie and Madi at the concert waiting for miley to come out.

Mags wearing her Miley hat!!

Aren't they so cute!!

Ok I had to post this. I was just thinking about wrapping some Christmas gifts and it made me think of what my kids did with my tape last year. There is never a dull moment at our house.
Take care everyone and have a good weekend!!

Happy Birthday Sam!!

This Sunday was the big party.... We had such a good party. I think we had about 14 kids over to celebrate. Wow!! All of them Maggies age and younger. That makes for a majorly crazy and chaotic party but just as fun still. Sam didn't know what was going on but loved watching all the big kids playing!! This was Sam's John Deere cake!!

Here he is thinking about taking his little cake down!!

Getting messier all the time!!

What a mess!!! At this point he was trying to breathe through the icing in his nose!! Haha!!

At this point he went and took a bath!! What a mess!!

This was one of his favorite toys!! Look at Connor trying to knock him off so he could play on it!! Good thing Sam got all these new toys that Connor has been playing with all the time. I guess it is a good thing he is little enough not to know any better!!

Playing with his cousin Emily!

Playing with Erika and Emily!! I wonder if he is trying to figure out why there is two of them or if he even notices. Wouldn't you love to know what they are thinking.

Anyways that is the highlights of our party. Sam and Keith's birthday (they are on the same day) is not actually until Thursday but we had to celebrate early b/c mag and I are going out of town this weekend. So we still have more partying to go. Tonight we are having my family and Keith's mom over to celebrate Keith's b-day b/c we are planning on taking the kids trick-or-treating tomorrow and Friday. Such a busy week.. Why does it seem like everything always happens in the same week. Oh well at least we have something exciting to do this week. Can't wait to post my pics of my trick or treaters later this week. Have a good rest of the week everyone!
